Consultancy Culture Change

These days, there is talk within pretty much every organisation about essential changes of culture. To arrive at a cultural transition, structures must be changed, corporate values defined and employees trained.

Together with her network partners from HumanDimensions, Jitske guides organisations through this transitional process. The unique added value she is able to offer is her ability to look at the desired change from an anthropological viewpoint. During her studies of cultural anthropology, she obtained the skills and knowledge to thoroughly and effectively identify and describe (organisation) cultures.

Specific anthropological qualities

Anthropology is a scientific discipline that studies people and their cultures from the perspective of the people themselves. Culture is seen as dynamic and constantly changing. Questions anthropologists ask include: What motivates people to do what they do? To live how they live and think like they think? What behaviour can be observed and where does this behaviour come from? The methodology used to do this is called participating observation: click here for further information on organisational anthropology.

Implementing Cultural Change

In order to actually implement new behaviour, Jitske challenges (boards of) directors and managers to link the desired culture to their corporate strategy and then translate this into concrete behaviour. She then makes use of the innovative ViralChange™ method to utilise the power of informal networks and achieve true cultural change through the ‘viral’ dissemination of the desired behaviour.
